It’s KEAUTY time again, cuties!!! Sharing K-beauty brands to try this year was just the beginning of abelskin’s Korean beauty-focused content. There’s soooo much more where that came from! Of course, K-beauty products will be weaved into any and every newsletter I send out, but my K-beauty-specific ~~stories will be a part of a franchise (as we call it in the biz) called KEAUTY. For years, I’ve been obsessed with this name for a K-beauty column/vertical/etc., so now that I’m a certified Girl Boss™️, I’m making use of it!
Anyway, K-beauty brands are constantly launching and new products are abundant. In my free time, I love sorting through them and adding my favorites to a list I have in my Notes app called, SEOUL WISH LIST. And girls, I’m about to let you in on some products on it. Many are not easily accessible in the U.S….yet! Also, this is honestly just a sliv of what is on my wish list. I need to go to Korea ASAP to acquire them all and discover things that I didn’t even know needed.
Lipcerin (립세린)
LG, one of K-beauty’s biggest conglomerates, of course, knew this lip care renaissance was going to happen, so it began developing this Lipcerin concept/complex/thing over the past five years that’s supposed to address flakiness, fine lines, dryness, elasticity, and shine. LG also came up with a nifty “AIR-FiT” container that is super hygienic and keeps the formula fresh. (Fenty Skin has something similar, but I haven’t tried it out yet.)
LG is fully committed to Lipcerin by having 16 of its brands launch their own versions of the innovation with each of their proprietary ingredients. I need all 16 of them ASAP, particularly Glint’s with the blue pearlescent finish and CODE GLOKOLOR’s tinted Summer Friday Butter Balm-esque formula.
Molvany Artichoke Soothing Acne Pore Toner Pad
I found out about this super sexy, sleek clean brand while doing some work for Soko Glam last year. In Korea, the most popular product in their lineup seems to be the toner pads. I know toner pads are probably terrible for the environment, but they are so convenient and fun to use, especially since you can stick them to your face as a quick sheet mask. Also, artichoke allegedly helps repair skin and is rich in vitamin C?!
amuse Lip Smudger
These oversized lip pencils are super trendy in Seoul rn for a blurred, overlined lip look. A bunch of brands offer them, but I’ve heard this one from amuse is particularly life-changing. I don’t find that surprising as all of amuse’s products are perfect.
Ugly Lovely’s Masks
I’m desp to try these cartoon-y face masks of both the rinse-off and sheet varieties infused with upcycled, ~~ugly produce, particularly carrots, figs, mandarin oranges, and potatoes, that can’t be sold. Loving the kitsch of it all.
