One thing about me is I WILL be scrolling through my Instagram Explore/Discover(?) page before bed. It’s a bad habit I got into while working at Allure, but it’s also the secret to my madness. My brain has a subconscious way of analyzing beauty-related posts and categorizing them into trends. I recently noticed that food-inspired nail art has been popular among Korean nail artists lately.
Cherries, strawberries, and mushrooms have been major stateside, but over in Seoul, nail artists have been topping tips in some unexpected food-inspired designs lately.
Tomatoes
Last year, tomato randomly became a sought-after candle scent (i.e. Loewe, Malin + Goetz, Jo Malone, Flamingo Estate). Personally, I’m not a fan of them in that form, but Seoul’s tomato nail art trend is absolutely diVINE. It started as red jelly nails with green stem-like stars, which is so simple yet so genius. I think I might get them done tomorrow honestly. It looks so cute on short nails. Tomato nail art has also developed into 3D tomato blobs and aura nail art with a delicious twist.
